Bluegrass boys at Porthleven food festival

Bluegrass band 'Flats and Sharps' from the College BTEC Music course are makin' waves at local events. The food festival was a real draw but so many people and queues that I left without eating a thing ! Why I always think festivals will be fun for a misanthropic hermit am not sure..

Penzance Harbour

Bluest of blue on a sunny day. As ever Penzance rewards the stroller. What seems a dirty seaside town that they forgot to close down if one hits the high street reveals gems as the explorer ventures wider.

We have just won a grant to put a new roof on the watersport centre( brown building pictured) on the Albert Pier so another opportunity avails itself for me to take no advantage of...The Scillonian is causing much fuss as there are several options for future routes to the Scillies. No-one could agree about development on the battery rocks for a new dock and now the governement have shelved all funding making the future even less clear. Perhaps Falmouth will take away this key link.

Arcade Fire

The most expensive lolly ever gambled for...Isla is an arcade fiend and likes to get a little pink step and lots of 2ps. We hit the jackpot in the end !

Beach fun

Sunny afternoon on Sennen beach. Bargains at Hayle boot sale included a bbq and Isla's wet suit which she was eager to put to the test.

Pollack and chips

The art of fish and chips has been beyond me until getting a small fryer for Xmas and now the chipper is open. Pollack is the best fish I have found for the flour egg, breadcrumbs treatment. Fast food with home made chips just need to get the seasoning right. Beer batter maybe ?
